QUARTZ SINK SUGGESTED MAINTENANCE
GENERAL CARE
Wash your sink using warm water, a non-abrasive liquid cleaner or detergent and a soft cloth or non-abrasive
woven nylon pad. Your sink may be cleaned as often as it is used.
HEAVY STAINS
Most stains incurred during normal use can be washed away with water and a mild cleaner such as Comet, BON
AMI, Bar Keepers Friend, Soft Scrub and a green Scotch Brite pad.
Some stains may require a diluted solution of bleach. Do not leave concentrated bleach soaking in your sink as it
could cause discoloration.
To prevent staining and discoloration, always rinse your sink after use with clean warm water.
FOR YOUR DARK QUARTZ SINK WITH WHITE STAINS
Degreasing The first step is degreasing of the sink. Please use for this purpose a soft, dampened cloth, a sponge
or, in case for example of dried stains a nailbrush and some liquid washing up detergent. Move in circular motions
with a little pressure over the sink’s surface. Rinse the sink with tap water. If necessary, please repeat this step.
Descalling The second step is descaling of the sink. Please use a common descaler and be sure, that no formic
acid is contained. Then use the descaler according the manufacturer’s instructions. Rinse well with tap water, if
necessary repeat this step.
Metal Abrasion Metal abrasion from your pans, your cool pot or ther cookware may occur. You can easily remove
this by using a magic sponge (dirt eraser) which is very gentle to the sink’s surface. Damp the magic sponge with
pure water and treat the metal abrasions with little pressure until there are no more residues.
Intense Clean The third step is the intense cleaning of the sink, if necessary. Therefor please spill hot water a
thumb thick high in the sink and dilute a portion of common dishwasher detergent. Let this rest for app. 1 hour
or overnight, then rinse well.
Sealing The fourth step is the sealing of the cleaned sink. Therefor the sink needs to be absolutely clean and dry.
Please apply a stone sealer for closed surfaces even and thin over the sinks surface by using a chamois or a micro
fibre cloth. (Please also follow the included instructions).
Ready The freshly treated sink should be allowed to rest for min. 6 hours so that the sealling can react with the
sink’s surface. Now your sink again repels all the stains and dirt that may affect it. Just use a sponge or cloth and
some soapy water to remove any residues.
*Please do not use any strong abrasives cleaning creams or powders, concntrated caustic soda, formic acid or
anything hightly corrosive. Do not use wire wool or steel soap pads as steel particles can become embedded in
your sink and rust.
*Please always be careful while using household cleaning agents and acids! Always follow the instructions of
use of the manufacturer! Sensitive persons should wear gloves while using detergent!
REMOVING OF STUBBORN LIMESTONE DEPOSITS FROM THE SINK
For removing stubborn limestone deposits use a mixture of citrix acis and vinegar.
Preparing of the Mixture Take four table-spoons of Citric and solve this in 0.2 litre of hot water. Then add the
same amount of white vinegar and give the misture a little stir.
Application Close the drain of the sink and pour this mixture into the boowl and add hot water until the bow’s
surface is covered with liquid. Let this work for min 1 hour. After this drain off the liquid and rinse well with cold
water, give the surface a little brush with a washing-up brush.
Now your sink is free of any Limestone Deposit.
